| Looking at a few 2003 SLK 320s. #1) 27901 mi. $27595 #2) 40851 mi. $25900 #3) 48998 mi. $23995 #4) 52599 mi. $22900 Maybe this is a dumb question but #1 is the clear winner with the low mileage, right?? I'll have to get detailed specs on the extras to help me compare but from the features listed online they all look fairly equal ( plus or minus multi-disc cd player ). Also, one included a free CarFax report that showed ownership by two different Motor Vehicle Depts. Any idea why Motor Vehicle Dept owns a SLK 320? Pretty nice car for running biz-related errands! |

| Interesting. For the age, none are high mileage compared to other vehicle. As stated, most used SLKs traditionally are low mileage. For a few thousand more, you might find a 2005 SLK (R171). Not to slight the R170s, but for the difference in cost, a big upgrade. Just a thought.

| I'd much rather have a R171 but the cheapest I'm seeing with reasonable miles is 36000, 40000 and up. Originally, I was looking for a 350 since it's THE car I like the best. I don't really want to pay more than 30k - 35k and the only 350 I found had lots of miles. So, I was considering just getting a "lessor" convertible (BMW, Nissan, or something) for the near term and move to the SLKs in a year or two when the prices dropped a bit more. But then was I was thinking .. the R170 "IS" a lessor car (than the R171) and I like it better than the other cars mentioned above so just grab a R170 for now! Oh well.. hehe I'll find something at some point. Maybe waiting 6 months and see what pops up in the R171 field is best, since winter is coming anyway. |

| I would wait and get something you really want, 6 months isn't that long of a wait, some of us had to wait 6 months or longer when we initial place our order, just imagine that you are waiting for your SLK to be build, come here to past time.

| I think winter is the best time to purchase a used SLK as the dealer's,private sellers etc have trouble selling them quickly and might be willing to negotiate and lower the price in comparison to the summer where the weather is better and sales are much higher. I wouldnt advise you on other cars, as If you have your mind set on something particular; you would get it and in this case get either the R170 or R171 because they are both great cars and can be used as a daily driver.

| Surely you can find a 350 for 35k. If I remember right I paid about $39k+tax for my 05 SLK55. Granted it has little options and had 38k on the clock but to me I would still rather have a 171. A 6spd 350 would be really nice. |
