Both Windows will lower until you let go of the switch. To close, or partly close, do the reverse; i.e. Push, let go, then push and hold.

If you do this twice, all 4 windows are open. The same way back, all are closed.

?? Not on any Ive seen. The vario roof releases the front of boot lid when small side windows start to go down.
Maybe on your R171?
These are R170 models on here

I found this out yesterday...

When raising my top, I wanted my windows down after the top was up. So as the top was going up, I pressed my window button down till it clicked into the auto down mode. (you know, you can press your window button farther than normal and let go and the window will continue to lower by itself)

After the top was up and the windows raised to close as normal...the windows then lowered again.

Default Hill rollback protection

Your SLK should have a mechanism which prevents rolling backwards when you come to a stop on a steep uphill slope. My driveway is very steep and has a slow opening gate; my previous E320 and my current SLK230 both have this...no need to hold the brake pedal down to stay put.

Pull the red roof button fast twice and hold the button with the second time down, all 4 windows (the small too) will open. I drove a 230K before. Try it.

And if it works I get a "nude square" okay?

Default :: Bump ::

This is some cool info, but I have a question.

Who's figured out how to have all 4 windows up when the top is down?

I never tried the 4 windows up with the top down trick. I will have to try it today after work.

I don't think it can be done. Some time back I considered rigging a toggle switch to activate the motor(s) to drive both rear windows up with the top down. Moving to Germany got me side tracked. I still may pursue it.

I couldn't get all 4 windows to come down though without having the top want to start lowering.

Was there a way to do this with one of the room modules? maybe the latest smart roof module? I vaguely recall reading that somewhere.

I think they're talking about the R170.

With the R171, with the roof up, two quick clicks on the roof switch in the center console will bring all 4 windows (2 main and 2 rear quarter) down. With the roof retracted, only the main windows can be brought to the up position but not the rear quarter windows.

This is correct. I tried the 2 quick clicks and it did bring the two side windows down, but it started the process to lower the roof as well, i.e. the trunk started to open. It isn't possible to raise all 4 windows with the roof down...not yet.

I wonder if you can have the roof up, front windows up, and rear windows down?

I guess you would press the roof switch twice to lower all windows, then use the front window switches on the doors to raise the front windows, and in theory this should leave the rear windows down...might be useful for venting the vehicle in hot weather or when driving through a dodgy area

Could someone try this?, and I mean the proceedure, not driving through a dodgy area

Yes, roof up, main windows up and the rear quarter windows down using the procedure you described. (R171)

I like it when something I suggest works...and I don't even have an SLK yet

Well I'm going to take it as a sign that me and and SLK were meant to be

Default Lights still ON for a few seconds after locking via remote

(R170)
Notice that after driving at night with your headlights ON, and when you park and get out of the car, click your remote to lock the doors, the driving lights and brake lights remain ON for a few seconds, then automatically shut off... maybe for safety.. assuming you are parking your car in a dark place, so the lights are there to guide you till you reach your doorstep... something like that.

Is there a way to disable this feature?

Default AM Radio Tuner - tunes by increments of 10 Khz

(R170)

The factory AM radio tuner tunes in increments of 10 Khz, which is I think, standard for the US.

I imported a US version into the Philippines (Asia), where AM radio stations use increments of 9 Khz.

How do I change the radio tuning increments?

I've had some previous blaupunkt stereo head units that have some secret button to do this.. you press 2 buttons at the same time for 10 seconds... something like that.

Is there something like this for the factory radio of the r170?
