Default Flashing Caution Light

Hello Everyone...for the first time in my 1999 SLK230 I took off at full throttle and noticed the yellow triangular light started flashing. it's the light at the back of the speedodometer. What does it mean when this happens? Thanks

As what Jbanks stated. Check condition of rear tires as a safety measure, it may be worn.

The light indicates that the car is worth the money you spent

Check:
1) The condition of the tires
2) Also check them for correct pressure
3) Ease of the throttle

It indicates ESP is ON because of:

1) Spinning of one more of the wheels
2) Over or understeer (sliding) is detected by yaw meter.

and as action, ESP is cutting of the throttle and/or applying brakes to each four wheels separately.

To can turn off ESP, but don't forget that it is always ON when braking.
