Default Dash Console thanks

Thanks for the link to the take down process. I bought a used SLK230 in Miami a year ago from a source which should've gotten the paint touch up right. I had cash and just wanted pay and leave. I had to wait till the middle of the following day to complete the purchase. They hit me with additional shop fees for the special attention I got. A year later the goop they applied has turned to the consistency of uncured contact cement and being light grey deposits itself on any cloth or leather which contacts it. Needless to say my pretty baby is now the proverbial "TAR BABY".

Sorted - it was a struggle, and my eyes hurt, but it's now readable

I was lazy and repainted consol, and the dash, and the door cards in situ using a brush, with paint supplied by the German company on Ebay . The leather texture meant that there are no brush marks so the finish is as good as original.

Looks great! You painted the center console compartment cover as well...hm. I'd be intersted in a follow-up a few months down the road to see how that keeps.

No, the paint was generally good, apart from some stubborn marks that could not be removed and a few chips.

Yes, I also painted the centre console compartment cover, as the ingrained dirt could not be removed.

So far, I am very pleased with the finish.
