Default R171 SLK55 front license plate bracket/mount

Got a fix-it ticket and I really need one. Does anyone have spare / extra for sale? I need the pre model update.

Hey - I've got one - I think - stateside. I'd suggest popping by the dealer - they will usually give you one for free.

Let me know how that goes. Isn't the non-AMG license plate mount around $50, AMG $100?

I still like the No-holes OEM Front license plate modification. Photo below shows the T-hook placed at the second-row openings next to the lower border of the front bumper cover on the lower front grille.

Could be James - I come from a "no front plate" state, so maybe the dealers here just have loads laying around, in which case, my AMG front plate holder just got a lot more expensive! :-)

I'd seriously go with Eddy's "no holes" mount before I'd deface a front bumper by drilling.

Eddy, Thanks for the idea. I finally received my bracket from www.parts.com.

I follow what you did, except I use zip tie instead:

pnjsi,

I think you came up with probably the best method to do this. Can you please tell me whats the part number for the bracket you used?

Thanks Eddy, I'll be following your instruction but using zipties as well. I think they would be a much easier fit and the way pnjsi did it, they won't be visible.

Thanks to both of you

If it is going to have to be permanently mounted to your front bumper, why not just drill it and make sturdy so it will not fall off?

Because it hurts the bumper. You can hear it cry out as you put the screws in.
