| There is really no economic way to upgrade a 200. Non-AMG Mercedes cars have a very high compression engine so there is not a whole lot that can be done with the stock block. An ECU might allow a better fuel to air mixture but without a new exhaust you will lose most of the advantage. If money is no object for you and you don't want to move on to an AMG, then ECU and exhaust are a good place to start. But I would not want to drop $10K or more on an ECU tune and an exhaust just to gain 10-15 hp on a 2.0 liter engine. You will never recoup it on resale and no tuner will warrant the work. Don't touch the internals. You can always try race gas! ![]() Keep in mind that an under-drive pulley won't add power. It will merely reduce the parasitic effect that the pulley has when transferring power from the engine to the wheel thereby allowing you to maximize brake horsepower from the flywheel. A smaller and lighter pulley wheel combined with a bit shorter serpentine belt may help the engine spool up a bit faster as well. I have an under-drive pulley on my Porsche Turbo and I think it has made the car a bit more peppy. |

| i've searched a few offers myself and as it turns out as B55 said, there is no economic way to tune up this engine... all the things you can do to this engine are somehow expensive if you consider the money spent for the extra hp you get. thx |
