| Paddle part number is 171-267-00-46. It comes with left and right paddles as a set. I got price quote $105 plus tax from my US dealer. One of local dealer has it in stock. As new paddle does not have clip part on the body to be mounted on the steering wheel, it needs mounting hardware. As old paddle switch has clip part, mounting is done by just pushing the switch into steering wheel. It means steering wheel assembly needs to be opened for installation of new paddles. Anyone knows how to open the wheel assembly? |

| Did the dealer give you that info mate? Thing is i have had my steering wheel stripped out and you cant access the paddles from the wheel the airbag fills the space inside it and once thats out its just a plastic shell with a hole cut in it for the airbag and switch wires to pass out you cant even see the wire for the gear selectors you will be better pulling them out of the holder around them you will see what i mean if you look at how the buttons are mounted. To remove the wheel is very easy if you want to have a look yourself simply remove the airbag its held on by 2 screws and if you want the whole thing off remove the big central bolt found under the airbag but be very careful working in case you set it off in your face

| I spoke to my dealer about this part number 171-267-00-46 and he reckons that is the part number for the buttons, not the paddles and that you cannot fit the paddles to existing steering wheel with buttons, you need to buy a new steering wheel for £925 |

| Yes they can be mate soembody has done it. Best to remove the wheel and get it on a bench then butcher the buttons off and insert the paddles. I have attached an EPC expolded diagram below and you can see the paddles in the picture, to be fair to the dealer they are still called rocker switches but as you can see they are paddles. The part number is the one listed above.

| Would it be easier to try and get a whole new steering wheel? If so Does anyone have the part numbers for the different steering wheels. I am after the slk55 one leather with the paddle shifters on, not the buttons? Looking to change my steering wheel with the buttons on to one with the paddles instead. |

| MB would fit it for you or you could do it yourself mate. An easy job really to replace the wheel it just takes elbow grease to make sure everything is installed nice and tight afterward cause you don't want the bolt going for a trip of its own while your driving along. Its literally 2 screws and a bolt, you move the wheel as far back as you can to get max clearance behind it and the dash then pull the battery remove the 2 screws for the airbag unplug that remove the retaining bolt and pull the wheel off. New one lines up with the markers on the column bolt goes back in tighten as much as humanly possible plug airbag back in place airbag back into the middle of the wheel insert the 2 screws plug in battery and jobs done. A monkey could do it in fact i do this job quite often
