| Well this is my first post after a long time of lurking around and reading all the interesting words from all the members here on this great sites. So, its time to say hello and ask a question. I have had my 350 since 2005. Fantastic ride with no problems at all. When I purchased the car I had requested that the car come equiped with Xenon lights. However when the car was delivered it came with something else. Diplomatically the dealer said that the lights that came with the car were better that the xenon that I had asked for. Does anyone know if the alternative is true? Also, is it easy to replace thee bulbs with the xenon that I wanted? Many thanks and look forward to more great advice!! |

| Hi and welcome. Sounds like dealer double talk. My question would be, "if they're not xenons or halogen what are they?" Two type of lights on the SLK from the factory, either halogen or xenons. Three options: keep what you've had for over three years, go with an aftermarket HID xenon kit, or purchase the factory xenon light assemblies either new or used and swap them out. Depending how much longer you plan to keep your current SLK should be a factor. Good luck.

| Concur with -1- The halogen is probably what you have. Do a search in this forum for HID and aftermarket install, etc.
