Question SmartTOP install help!

Hi Guys,

I'd like to say hello to everyone as this is my first post of this forum

I just finished installing the SmartTOP module on my 05 slk350. This module rocks. it does everything it says it does and the install was quite straight forward. The only thing is I can't get into the smartTOP menu by pressing the phone hang up button.

here's what i did: get into car, make sure doors are unlocked, turn ignition to acc, turn comand off, switch to "AUDIO off" page by using the menu buttons, then press and hold the phone hang up button. I would sit there and hold for the next minute and nothing would happen.

Has anyone experienced this? Am I doing something wrong here? Please help!

Turn on the ignition, turn off COMMAND, turn off the car. Let the car go to sleep for a few minutes (COMMAND shuts down). THEN, follow the above steps with COMMAND already off. You should only have to hold down the phone hang-up button for a few seconds. The turn signals will flash and the menu will appear on the heads up display. See if this works and let us know.

Only insert the key but do not turn. Leave on position 0. (Do not put key in position 1, nor position 2). This is for version 1.

Vesion 2: follow what reallife stated.
