| I think I have decided to follow AMG's lead and drop the idea of using a supercharger for increased performance. After all, it's not a mid-engine car that would be upset by turbo boost issues. Whose got a good twin turbo setup for the 3.5L? A twin turbo 3.5L would be the ticket to provide better power to weight ratio then a stock 5.5L. There's pleanty of space up there for it. |

| My Audi buddy insist's on Turbo's, but he drives an Audi S4 with larger than stock turbos. They give him lot's of power and he pulls away from me on the track. We looked under the bonnet/hood of my SLK350, and there is plenty of room for a large Turbos on both sides. Plus we have sort of a natural scoop that could be incorporated based on the plastic vents where the spray washers are located in the hood. Advantage of Turbo's is it is free power (no pulley system like a S/C). Disadvantage is you have to cool your oil and need intercoolers. From what I have researched, based on the 350Z, you have to pull the enginer and get the compression lowered (or you will blow up the engine). You can raise the hp from 265 to ~450. I am thinking about it a lot, because as much as I want an AMG and have AMG envy, the Turbo solution would be a killer sleeper. At ~450 hp you can challenge a Z06. |

| There are no turbo kits for SLK350 and there won't be any released in the future. The only solution for you is to have a custom turbo setup made... which doesn't really make sense because it would cost you twice as much as upgrading to SLK55 AMG. From my experience, a custom turbo setup with tuning will cost you 15-20 grand minimum. My advice would be save up for SLK55 AMG and if you still want more, get a kleemann 550hp+ kit. P.S. If you do decide to get a custom turbo setup, contact www.heffnersperformance.com They make custom turbo kit for everything from lambo gallardo's to Ford GT's... so I'm sure they wouldn't have any problem turbo'ing your SLK350. What its going to cost you though, is a whole other story |

There are few things I like better then to be horribly underestimated and to whomp on somebody's ass. Besides, there are reasons I did not get the SLK55, and this will retain: 1. Buttery 6-speed manual. 2. Theives overlook non-AMG badged models. 3. Lighter weight, less nose heavy. Remember: It's not that one is better then the other, it's that this is better for me. Everyone has their own wants and likes, and reasons for having their car their way.

| I concur on those points. My car is coming off warranty soon (45k miles)...might be interested in perhaps a dual midsize turbo setup (to minimize turbo lag). Could be cheaper? Like 12k ish? |

| Anyone got any SLK180 badges? ![]() Get the file out to de-AMG the wheels? The brake calliper covers? All the Pontiac Kit (ribbed for more pleasure?) on the bottom still shows though. I like my snubby nose Plebian look. Wish I could see a larger picture of your painted headlights. |

I think the AMG wheels are very subtle as is anyway, brake calipers...i have yet to hear of a car being stolen for nice brakes. Body kit? well, around here there are as many AMG kitted cars as stock MB, so it doesn't stand out.
