Default Superchips UK

has anyone had any experience using there products? because i called them up and asked if they do any chips for the slk and they told me that they do and the i would cost me GBP 250 + vat. and that this will remove the speed limiter, give me a 15hp increase, and that a remap would also give me better fuel economy.

If it where me i would not bother.

Your car is UK registered right? if so modifying the ECU in any way will void your warranty no exceptions.

Not sure how the rules apply there but you need to check with somebody who knows the laws in detail in France before going for stuff like this.

If its the same as the UK your warranty will be void not just for the ECU but the whole car.

Same in France : As soon as you make any modification with not "official" parts, warranty claim may be refused.

Cheers mate,

Thought it was like that but it never hurts to check with somebody who knows for sure.

No not the sprint booster because you could remove it before service but i gotta be honest with you thats not worth the money.

If a dealer saw it then it would void the warranty

Not a lot to be honest with you mate, only things that can be removed before service work really

If you tune your car, chose a big company like Brabus, Carlsson, Vaeth, MKB or Wimmer. They will offer you a warranty.

Exactly and with some of them you also get service via the main dealer network so your not tied to one or two shops in a whole country.

As Gero says if you want to tune now / get an extended warranty then you need to go to an established tuner who will offer a replacement warranty.

If you don't want to get an extended warranty and don't mind losing your warranty now then you can install mods from other sources.

If it where me i would (and have) only give time to the big respectable tuners who will step up and take on your cars warranty, somehow i don't see a chip "tuning" (if you can call it that) company taking on the warranty for a £55-60k car.

For the B55?

Not sure to be honest with you because Brabus don't really have a price list.

Your looking probably close to 5 figures depending on what you ask them to do exactly and who you have do it, its best speak to them and they can shed more light on it.

Your welcome mate.

Sorry i can not be of anymore help with the B55 issue, as is say speak to Brabus they are normally very good but just one tip.

If you start to fire off questions about cost right off of the bat they will tend to assume you can't afford it and tend to treat you as such, make sure they know you are genuinely interested first and then you will be treated with respect.

i sent them an email last night and the replied saying that they dont do the B55 they only do the B6.1 and they gave me the names of local dealers.

i really dont know what i want to do. all i know is that i want to mod the car. this thing is driving me crazy so many options out there but nothing that i like.

the other thing i really want to do is to remove the limiter on the car.
