I think is not common in America, but Ive seen a couple of ML's they have done and judging by their work everything looks good, I like their body kit.

To awake the discussion,

here's the next one:
http://www.t-t-p.de/english/slk_klasse.php

with comparable performance values (380 hp, 490 Nm).

Now that is what I am talking about. Great improved performance on the SLK 350. Need to call the shop in the US to see if they can do it. Also checking a shop here in Plano that does Kleeman upgrades (assuming they come up with the 350 Kompressor sometime soon).

Thanks for kick starting this discussion.

Niiiiiiiiiice! 380hp is really nice. But the cost of this has to be coupled with suspension and brakes unless one got the AMG package and tires to handle 490 Nm torque without breaking free and engaging the electronic nanny.

Not only does it deliver power but it looks like a million bucks.

I dunno guys... 16,000 euros to install plus all the additional upgrades you'll need like suspension, brakes, and tires, is a lot of money, probably enough to move up to SLK55. On the other hand, if you must have a manual transmission, its probably worth it.

Suspension is relatively cheap to upgrade. I just swapped a SLK55 suspension in for about $550 installed. You can get a H&R Coilover kit for about $1000 or KW V3's for $1900.

Tires are cheap. Most people would upgrade their wheels to the max 19" and tires to the max 265/30/19 Rear 235/35/19 Front fitment anyways. I know stock SLK55's run with less rubber than that.

Brakes will be more expensive. Whether you think it will suffice to go with just pads, or to actually upgrade the entire brake system (you can move your front 4-pistons to your rear and just get bigger fronts), is up to you, but should run you about $3000 for everything installed.

Not bad but a rational move would be a SLK55.

ya, unless your really love your particular car (mods, manual, or even insurance) the 55 would be the way to. Assuming you can just go out and buy a new car. That may not always be a possibility.

Still the 55 would be a smarter move because you can get that performance with more reliability. And if you still want to go faster, you can always supercharge that for around the same price down the road, and now have a 500hp monster......

just a thought.

But we are MT SLK 350 owners. We are not rational!

That is the fun with our cars, is the capability to upgrade to increase performance. Remember, we can improve performance while keeping our weight ratio roughly the same, so we can compete with Wrx's/Civics/Evo's and other cars. My frustration is the lack of upgrades that are easily available. SupersprintNA has customer headers & pipes for the 350, but they are not street legal. Darn!!!!

But you are correct Alroumi, as MB owners we should be rational....

SuperSpritn NA has headers and dont worry about hte not street legal thing, how loud can it be really.

Ive got 3" Kleemann 200 cell primary cats on my SLK55 coupled with SuperSprint Xpipes its loud and not very loud if I vary with the rpm no problems with the police.

So, does anyone else have experience with the SuperSprint headers and cat system?

I don't think it's the sound levels, it's passing emissions that might be a problem, with headers, it's not like you can take them off easily to get your emissions tested and then install them again afterwards.
