| Hey guys, Just cheked K1 motorsports online store ( new Member over here)and they offer lowering springs for the SLK55 AMG, they cost 329.99 if not mistaken, they retail for 369.99 and its part number is 50.1.026. They seem to be good, Would love to have a lower ride.

| Intrax makes springs for alot of japanese imports, for the same price as H&R's, I would go with those instead.

| it depends on how much you want to spend, KW would be best, it's adjustable, H&R coilover's isn't last time I check. KW's are the most expensive but I heard it's worth it

| Well this would be something new for me , There is nothing motivating me to do it since none of the 55 Members have done this with SLK55 specific springs, they just go with Brabus springs. I need to think about this.

| every car I've lowered in the past 6 years has been on height adjustable coilovers. To me, it's worth the extra $$ as I can always adjust things until I'm happy. I've even had situations where after lowering the car, 3 years later I moved to another house and had to lift the whole car about 0.5" to clear the driveway. I've also done things like switching from a "heavy" sub-woofer enclosure to something fiberglass and had to drop one corner of the car maybe 0.25" to get it all perfect. Now if only Tein would release a coil-over setup for us with the EDFC - then I"d be all over it. It's a controller that runs stepper motors on each strut that will allow you to adjust the dampening while driving... Oh yeah. |

| Tha's retail price correct? I've seen H&R listed on ebay for $299.00 USD awhile back. Coilovers for $1,100.

| Hi everyone, I haven't had my SLK for long and I've been gone from her even longer. My question is about the upgraded?? lowered suspension on the 030 vs stock AMG. Is it worth getting an aftermarket coilover for maybe 1 or 2 track days per year? Or more if I can find time!! What other suspension mods would be worthwhile for track but still be live-able on the road? Thanks guys |

| Personally i would stick with what you have it will be fine on the track and is live-able on the road also. I would not bother spending your money on coilovers for just a few days a year. Regards, Dan

| I'm with Dan on this one, unless you track for a living, it's not worth it. I assume you have the 030 pkg, that should be enough, if you don't then the KW coilovers are both great for daily driving and the track as it's adjustable.

| The best you can get for a SLK55 is a complete chassis from Carlsson. http://www.carlsson.de/de/tuning/slk...ahrwerk/01.php The basics are this: http://www.carparts-cat.com/webkat.a...5101804&ROOT=1 The Bilstein B16 PSS9 is sending go-kart feeling into your heart and SLK. The German price is about 1.500,00 Euro for the original Bilstein and about 2.200,00 for a Carlsson chassis. |
