There haven't been any reported gains from chip changes up till now, but that doesn't mean it can't happen sometime in the future...........

checkout Fasttuning.de they offer chip / pulley upgrade for the SLK 230 and shows you how much Horepower you gain and Torque ; I hope that helps

Its one of those things where no one seems to post up any proper before or after data

I did read somewhere (wish I could find it again) that the MB computer is adaptive enough in the 230 SLK to override any changes from a rewritten chip. Remember only what I read. Was a good atricle but.

A friend of mine, owner of a clk 230 kompressor, upgraded the pulley and the ecu. and from 193 hp went to approx. 245 hp. Hudge difference on the road! I did the same to my slk 200 kompressor...

Pulley and ecu upgrade 450 euro.

well I don't know if it is availiable on line but i can give you some info if you like,
If you upgrade the engine pulley with one 22,5 mm you will go up to 0.8 bar. But if you do this, you have to modify the ecu (to have enough fuel at all rpm so you won't brake the engine.) These engines are capable of 0.8-0.9 bar without serious mods and problems.

so The best is:
22.5 mm pulley
ecu upgrade
bigger intercooler (add safety!!)
Then consider that you will go approx 245-255 hp

Note that before the ecu re-programming and with a smaller pulley 0.6 bar i was at the dynometer 207 rwp and 230hp without any problems... tested for 80.000km + .

Hi Guys,

I was wondering what chip upgrade you are talking about for the 200 and 230; as a work colleague just got a 2003 230 and wants to upgrade the power...(mainly because I've taken him out in my car...)?
