I have a 2004 SLK230 I am happy with its perfomance as it stands (all default factory), but I was wondering are there any simple mods that can be performed, and what advantage would they give ![]() Regards Steve

Simple Mods I have done; Installed Green Filter = Better Sound and MPG. Better Performance also apparently but only marginal. Perspex Screen instead of mesh. Mods I'm going to do; Install roof mod to add more features (Put down whilst driving and remotely etc.) I'll get an autoelectrician to do this like...looks to difficult for my non mechanical/electrical mind. Replace front lights with angel lights (Looks simple enough. I'll do this one myself).

I have heard that a pulley kit is a very nice option. The kleemann kit raises power by about 30 hp. The ASP kit costs about $700. not sure how much power it adds or how much the Kleemann costs (if I did I'd buy one of them) but if you assume they are comparable, that is about $20 per HP. which is a great deal considering average HP gain to cost is $100 to 1 hp for most other cars. I have also thought about tinting the side windows to reduce interior temps. This should help in the long term on the aging of the interior (UV protection) and make siting down in the car more enjoyable in hot weather.

Welcome to SLKWorld Steve!! You'll want to install a K&N air filter so the car can breathe a little easier. The pulley kit is a good idea, I'm planning to go with the ASP when the time comes. A MAF relocation mode will make a difference with the lagging of the supercharger. Here's a link to get you started. http://www.benzworld.org/forums/r170...MAF+relocation Definately get a roof module, there are a couple out there, I have the EasyRoofSLK www.simpleroof.com. Excellent & inexspensive! I clear plexiglass wind deflector is much nicer than the mesh one. I got mine here http://www.windrestrictor.com/SLK170_Home.html. Really nice folks! That's all I can think of right now. Good luck and post some pics of your ride!!

I payed 6.700 danish kroner, which is about 1.360 USD, A little bore expensive than a ASP kit, but here you have some serious quality with everything you need included. | |
