SLK32 page should load right up. http://tvtdesign.com/srt6_c32_slk32

The "links" for the items titles, are just titles. Need to remove the Hyperlink look. I am not web savvy.

Great sight, great stuff. The guys over at the Crosfire forum really like your stuff.

Two questions;

1. With the larger intake, air chamber and "Y" do you also use the 55 V8 throttle body and mass flow?

2. Can you publish dyno data on the various mods and combinations? I know dyno data is subject to all kinds of interpretations but 'before/after' data might be helpful if it was on the same car and dyno.

Thanks
Rich

Thanks for the kind words. I try my hardest to offer some good parts at great prices.

1. The E55 TB is not used. However, the stock E55 TB and and SLK32 are the same diameter, different bolt pattern. Also there is no MAF on the SC cars.

2. We very rarely, probably never, have a customer that comes in for one mod and a dyno. We almost always sell pulley, tune, intake. That combo is good for about 60-75 RWHP.

We've seen dynos of the SL55 airbox show 26RWHP, an 178mm pulley at 32RWHP, and a tune on top of that adding another 22RWHP. Obviously 1+1+1 does not equal 3, but those are basic numbers.

We also always recommend an upgraded intercooler pump when upgrading the car. They are cheap and will make sure your SC doesn't cut off when the stock one fails.

Thanks, Learn something new everyday. It's my first SC MB. Anyone out there with 'real world' experience with these mods?? Suggested exhaust to go with this?

I have the Johnson CM30 I/C pump and I am very happy with it. My bosch I/C pump had failed at 71K miles. Anthony can comment better, but I think the pump he is referring to is an even higher flow Johnson Pump, maybe the CM90. Either way, I would definitely recommend putting in a Johnson I/C pump.

I deleted my resonator, and like the more "snarly" deep exhaust note than stock. Other exhaust mods are pricey for the HP gained. I put on green air filters, replacing dirty OEM filters and noticed MPG improvement and maybe some acceleration benefits. If you have clean OEM airfilters, the HP gains from greens are probably hard to notice.

I haven't done any other performance mods yet, but I would do the intake, pulley(s) and ECU tune before spending money on the exhaust, beyond a resonator delete.

Also, I am forcing my car to lose weight: Resonator delete saves about 20 lbs, I have a 14 lb battery on order and I went to a wheel/tire combo that is over 40 lbs lighter than the stock AMG set-up (remember that is rotating, unsprung mass, so it counts more just removing "dead weight". Even without the battery, I can really feel a improvement in hard acceleration in 2nd and 3rd gear. No doubt the lighter wheels and tires would benefit hard 4th and 5th gear acceleration too, but the speeds are already pretty high nearing redline in third, so I don't have experience keeping it WOT through 3rd into 4th and 5th.

You'll get the best response from C32 or SRT6 guys. There were a lot more of those cars and as a result a lot more were modded.

If you are gonna go with exhaust, go custom. If we had a SLK32 close we could fab one up and send it over.

CM30 is the preferred pump if you do not have an expanded coolant system (99.9% of customers).

Does the SL55 Intake Upgrade Kit allow you to keep the stock front engine cover or will the SL55 cover be required? If not, will the SL55 cover fit? Anyone tried it?

Rich

Sorry for all the questions but I;ll be getting my SLK32 next week and am lining up what to do, when to do it and how to do it.

stock cover mount tabs need to be removed and repositioned then epoxied back in place. the sl55 cover wont fit at all. diff mount points and the position of the oil filler hole is diff. best to mod the oem cover. it isnt a perfect fit but not bad if done right.

anthony how will you address the fitment of the long tube headers along the drivers side? virtually no room for 3 runners to merge into a collector. and im always up for testing new parts!

the exhaust is a non issue until you get to the rear just in front of the muffler. theres less than 4" of space to between the spare tire tub and the lower control arm. no way to get atrue dual exhaust in the space unless they are stacked vertical. then theres no room to bring them horizontal to enter a muffler. space for muffler is 12" x12" and no muffler made to date. of course if you cut the tub out you could go quad tips !!

SL55 cover won't fit as far as I know, but I have seen someone retro fit a C63 cover...

As for the headers and exhaust. There's room for 3 pipes on both sides, its been done. We are not going to be tackling headers as the market is not there to support it.

For the exhaust, if a dual set up won't fit, a single 3" will flow more then enough. If you wanted to go bigger then you can do 3.5 or 4.

We've squeezed corsas on an E55 with virtually no room, so mocking up something nice for these cars should not be a problem. My guys are creative and if they don't get the project done then they got the whip! That banana looks really inappropriate

Looking at this for the exhaust. Not so much for performance but for the 'audio enhancement'!

We are kinda hijacking TVT design's thread on their performance parts. Anthony is a good guy, and I think it is way, way cool that we have a performance shop for our cars as a site sponsor!

Anthony: Tell us a little more about your machined supercharger pulley for the SLK32. Does that include the price of you obtaining an OEM supercharger pulley and machining it? Or do we have to send you our OEM pulley? What are your thoughts on how far the pulley can be machined to smaller diameter without belt slippage?

On the resonator delete I had done on my SLK32, please take the discussion to that thread and I will be happy to give my comments on my experience (and I might be talked into recording more exhaust notes with the cam off to the left to minimize supercharger whine and letting more exhaust note come through)

That's the first time I've seen an SLK32 exhaust and it is exactly the same as the SRT6 (except muffler placement). We have had great results removing the resonator, gutting the rear cats, and gutting the OEM muffler. It sounds great at idle and really roars when you get on it. Plus it looks stock and maintains the AMG parts.

The machined down SC pulley is really for those that have a crank pulley and are looking to add more boost with a custom top end. That price is the cost to machine your OEM pulley. To my knowledge you can not buy the stock pulley as a seperate part from the SC.

If you are looking to go real small up top and keep a stock crank pulley, go Code 3. This way you can save your OEM pulley if you should ever want more power with a crank/machined combo later on.

The other issue you can run into is as you go smaller then 67mm you should replace the bearing. That further increases cost.

A good combo of 178mm/69mm SC pulley will give you nearly 400RWHP with supporting mods. We got 396RWHP with one of our SRTs.
