| I wanted to drop a note here letting everyone know that I (the co-driver) will be competing with my driver at the Ojibwa Forest Rally in Bemidji, MN. This is our second rally. In our first, we competed in Salem MO in February’s 100 Acre Wood Rally. There, we finished well back in the standings but we were very happy with our performance. Some official photos here: http://www.rally-america.com/event.1...section=photos In the 14 stages of rally we rolled our ’85 VW GTI on stage 7. There were two fortunate outcomes:
If you would like to follow the Ojibwa event we are car #841 and we compete in the G2 class. Info is available at http://rally-america.com/event.OFPR.2008.php Results by stage can be viewed at http://www.rally-america.com/event.O...=results_stage Enjoy! |

| Well the Ojibwe Rally came and when. The promise of rain ( the course is very dusty and a little precipitation would have held the dust down). Lots of spectators came out to watch Ken Block lead right in to stage 15, the last stage. On a “L5->4, no drift, no cut” Ken hit a tree (six miles from the finish) destroying his car. Travis Pastrana went on to win. Ten cars got by Ken and the 11th clipped his back end causing the tree to fall across the road. The 13th car ran in to the fallen tree. Stage 10 was free flowing and very fast. It proved to be too much for a few racers. One ended up upside down requiring heavy sweep to upright him. One ended up in the bush and one racer, misreading a corner, spun taking out an outhouse in the Utasca Park. Our team mates, Zedril Racing, finished 3rd in class after a low branch whipped their Ham radio antenna into the back window shattering it. Team 841 (me and my driver) moved up in the standings in stages 1 – 9 but ended up loosing the fuel pump and the end of stage 9. Our service vehicle was an hour an hour away forcing us to forfeit out time card at the 30 min maximum lateness. DAMN! Our next adventure is in Houghton, MI at the Lake Superior Rally Oct 17 – 18. |
