Yeah... I don't know about that. I think this is where cultures are slightly different. I would bet most people in the US wouldn't think that would be very funny especially if it happened to them. I can't help but to think if one of my kids fell into that same trap. Oh, then I would have someone's *ss.

Lighten up... When I was a kid, I set traps all the time. I wished I had a back hoe.

You didn't pay attention to the folks that got trapped... smiles on their faces.

I did see some with smiles but I still think you wouldn't get the same reaction in the US.

PS, with childhood friends like you, who needs enemies? . jk.

1. If they thought they had just fallen into a hole due to their own carelessness, they might have just smiled/laughed at first.

2. When they discovered that it was a deliberate trap, I'm sure some of they were not happy.

3. The video does not show anyone really upset or angry... that does not mean that no one was upset or angry.

4. Whether it's videotaped as a joke, or done by a stalker... such a stunt does not belong in real life.

5. It may be funny in a comedy movie, where we know it's fake and no one got hurt/terrified... but I don't see anything funny if this is done to real people in real life.

yeah, what about the people with cellphones/pdas/music players in there pocket? or people who have water related phobias? what about the elderly?

I'd be seriously pissed.

It looks like that's a common place for joggers, in which case i really don't think that's an ok spot. I'm guessing the whole thing is a setup though, including the people who fell in.

Judging from the fact that they had a back hoe and industrial hose to fill the hole, tarp, etc., it was probably one of those TV shows where they prank people. I'm sure any damaged or destroyed PDAs, cell phones, mp3 players, etc would be replaced by the show if the victims were truly unknowing. I highly doubt they would just say "oh well, too bad", they'd get sued, at least in the states anyway. I've showed this video to tons of people here and they all laughed at it and said they'd find the humor in it even if they were the victim, as long as the prankster be it show or rich weirdo reimbursed them for damaged electronics.

Humor is the expression of the unexpected. I think there are other ways of having humor not at the expense of unsuspecting victims who could have been seriously hurt or suffered damage to their belongings.

if i lost the data on my phone, no amount of money would compensate for it. I back it up, maybe once every 2 months, but i have a lot of business and personal data that would be very time consuming to recover.

You cant compensate for lost important data or files on a phone or PDA. This is obviously fake and anyone who believes otherwise isn't thinking straight. Once it happened to the first people they would probably call someone of authority and have the trap removed. Either way, not funny.
