| nothing very special or too dramatic about it, but it is a nice design, simple, spacious, compact and user friendly. a bit conservative, but would work fine for me as second car... best ir-ops |

| It's the old car with some new sheet metal / front end treatment. If you look at the interior, it's exactly the same as the old model except for the new steering wheel. It's not based on the new C-Class at all and is a cheap way for Merc to pump more money out of the same old platform. Here's the TopGear Review. They have a longer one in this month's printed magazine. Quote:

| Alroumi: in my opinion, i think that the SLK is more of a refined (and i hate to use this word) but also an exclusive vehicle. It is popular but in its own way. It's definitely not cheap and regardless of the critisms with the latest facelift exterior, i do believe Mercedes have answered the call to quite a few "issues" with its update. Tummy: personally i think Mercedes are looking to take on the likes of the A3 and the 1 Series with this one, and in my experience with both the A3 and the 1 Series, corners have been cut in creating what could have been a quality vehicle. Cars are peoples personal choices and believe it or not, i'm actually quite happy with my BMW. I am however changing on what i'm wanting from a vehicle, hence the SLK came up for me, as it is what i'm about and wanting and it offers so much more than the design, the power etc... |
