High gas prices, Lifestyle changes - Page 2

My Nissan Murano ran out of warranty so I traded it in and I was going to get a BMW X3, FX35, or an Acura RDX, those get about 17-19 mpg city driving, similar to what my Murano gets. Knowing the price of gasoline will continue to go up, I decided to get a Nissan Rogue instead. 170bhp is plenty to drive around town. I need the practical space of a SUV, and it's getting 24mpg in the city. Can't complain.

Spiegel Online reports today that the French and German government agreed to a CO2 average fleet emission limit of 120g/km for new cars starting 2012. For high-powered and luxury vehicle manufacturers, this will not be possible without a drastic reduction in fuel consumption. To put this in perspective - my 2006 SLK280 emits 220g/km.
