| Well basically the thread is straight forward and dead easy, I got this idea from the W203 AMG section on Mbworld and I figured out why not I create a similar thread on SLKworld to see what our members had to drive before their beloved SLK's. Well here goes, the SLK is my first roadster like all of you might know and before that: Sold: 1997 Jaguar XK8 4.0L Topaz Gold over Beige with light brown dashboard and burl walnut trim 1999 Mercedes ML320 Emerald Green over sand with Exterior tire carrier many modifications done to it such as 20" Kahn design wheels, AMG dual tips, 15" MTX woofer, Tv screens, opera design front bumper, tints and so and thats what brought me to benzworld where later on I got to meet Zut, Ynot and the fellas. ![]() ![]() ![]()

| I had the SL and CL, the latter went when the SLK arrived and the SL55 got changed for a 65 after a little while and then it was also replaced. I think i might have some CL piccies here somewhere.

| My previous car was a black 2003 R170 SLK 230 - before that, I had an assortment of TVR's, Landrovers/Range Rovers (- including a '89 Discovery when they 1st came out and an '79 SIII which I put a 4.2 V8 into(wicked)), several MG 'B''s, a couple of Fords (Escort & second ever car - an Anglia) and my 1st ever car - a 1955 Morris Minor Series II(it was VERY old when I bought it!) - also a varied assortment of company cars and vans. - oh, and Minis!!

| I picked up a 2004 Chrysler Crossfire 2 days after graduating undergrad. It got me interested in the R171 SLK that came out around the same time, and after finishing grad and working for a little, I said why not and upgraded! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| Very interesting question: Before the current SLK I drove SLK, the R170 starting 1999. The others were very German cars and I don't know whether they are well-known excepted the first one: 1st: VW Bug or Beetle (Käfer): 1981 until 1983 2nd: VW Scirocco II: 1983 until 1990 3rd: VW Corrado G60 1990 until 1999 But Mustangs and Barracudas,

| Previous toy was a 1998 Pontiac WS6 Formula - with a small cam, bolt-ons, and full exhaust it ran mid 12's at 115 traps on street tires. Was a fun ride for the 5 years I owned it. ![]() ![]()

| Bill is that a 1970's + Mach 1 ? Nice, I've got two friends who have one of these in their garages and that stock exhaust is quiet loud. He has a modified one which would run 0-60 in about 5 seconds flat.

| I forgot to add that I had a 1994 C180 ( W202 ) before the Jaguar and the ML, it was beautiful and in Red with beige cloth seats. It didnt stay that long and was traded for the ML.

| Well, lets see...No fancy cars here. ![]() I grew up a poor Preacher's kid. Lived paycheck to paycheck working at Continental Airlines most my life. Worked my way up in the company, saved and managed my money, bought a partnership in a local Financial Firm. We have just expanded our offices to the top 2 floors in the Bank building in Humble Texas. We have also added a few more Financial Advisors to our staff.![]() Now I am back living paycheck to paycheck, while the office is in the expanding stages. Feels like I am starting all over again. So my car history is pretty plain before my SLK. This list does not include my wife and kids cars I bought thru the years. 80 New Chevy Truck 66 Oldsmobile 98 86 New Honda Goldwing Aspencade (2 1/2 years, only transportation, rain or shine.) 89 New Chevy truck (wife had baby, had to sell the bike to carry wife and baby.) 65 Chevy Truck 73 Buick Centurion Convertible 71 Triumph Spitfire 81 Jeep Wagoneer 84 Jeep cj7 74 Jeep cj5 (rip, rolled it over when lady ran stop sign and hit me) 98 New Dodge Dakota Truck 2000 SLK230 (My first Car of Class! Bought in 2006 with 16,000 on it. Like new then and still like new! )Hard to remember all those cars and years of the cars. Nice trip down memory lane.![]() Thanks for the memories! Good Thread! ![]() SLKman
