Sale of Jaguar.

A day or two ago, Ford sold Jaguar and Land Rover to Tata of India, whose most expensive car so far costs $2500! The news report I saw also said that Ford sold the name "Daimler" to Tata. The fact that Jag had even "owned" this name was a surprise to me. I was aware that there is a historical connection between Jag and the name "Daimler", but had thought that this name had belonged to Mercedes in recent years.

Does this mean that Daimler AG, which builds our cars, will have to change its name?

Daimler is similar to Bentley Mulliner, a bespoke coach builder but Daimler for mercedes is the name of one of the founders of this great company.
