Default F1-Canadian GP

Got confirmation this past week that we got tickets to the Canadian GP. We have gone to all the past US GPs at Indy but Tony and Bernie took care of that. Is anyone else planning on going? I know someone on the site is from Montreal but I'm having a brain freeze and can't remember who.

Let me know when your decision is made. Then we'll make sure to get together at the race.

Thought I would give this a bump since the race is less than 2 months away now and easty has been in Montreal for a while. Zut, have you ever gone?

Hey mate, Yes I forgot about the thread. And yes I'm here and yes I have tickets. I think we are sat in the senna stand somewhere. certainly have to meet u somewhere.. Maybe I could have an F1 party at my place or something? where are you staying? My apartment is on the water in the old port. I'm pretty close to the track, well as the crow flies.

Sorry for the slow reply, connection in the airport was not too good. The tickets arrived in the mail today! We're in Stand 22. As for where we are staying, still working on that as we have a conference in Boston the week leading upto the GP so we needed to get those dates set before we could finalize Montreal. Flying into Boston then renting a car to drive to Montreal on the Thursday before the race so we will have a car so if we're in the 'burbs it's OK because we will just drive to a metro station for the trip to the track. Don't know Montreal so any ideas on location?

Your right, if your near a metro your about 30-40 mins to the track. I'm sure the yellow line going to the track will be very hectic on race weekend. I would consider dropping the car off and using the metro only. Montreal is getting really busy now it's sunny every weekend and parking is very difficult. also driving into the city would be a little crazy that weekend. I'm getting a taste of it now just while the hockey finals are on.

here's a map of the metro and the yellow line is to the track via beri uqam

I really don't know what to suggest out of downtown as I've always been in the center, maybe Zut can help out as he's a local chap.

talking of the track i was walking about it on sat. gorgeous day.

me sat on the tyre wall at corner 8-9

Thanks for the info easty. I'll let you know when we get a location. Looking forward to a new track, was getting a bit tired of Indy after 8 years. If you go for a party, we'll be there with bells and refreshments!

Okay, got a hotel in Boucherville which is very close to the east end of the yellow line station Longueuil. Hotel has a free car park so the rental can stay there and we can use the Metro to get to the track and/or downtown. Easty, hopefully you scoped out all the good restaraunts and pubs by now!

Thats cool mate. I think that's really near the water so not far from the track. Yep I know a few bars already!
