Default My SLK has a new friend

Well, an old one really. And since it's relegated the SLK to the driveway, perhaps they aren't friends just yet

They aren't exactly common, but there are quite a few here. Chargers are popular too. A lot of '60s cars have been imported from dry states over the last decade and restored. It makes an interesting alternative to the usual E Type or whatever.

I'll be taking some more pictures just as soon as it stops raining. It won't see much rain, so shouldn't be too prone to rust.

Not yet, but it should go OK. It had a brand new Ford Motorsport GT40 Mk1 spec engine (289) fitted when it was completely restored in 2002. I have a dyno plot from the initial setup showing 335 bhp at the wheels It's in need of another tune up though at the moment as some of the horses seem to be taking a rest, and it's running a bit rich. It's been professionally stored for the last couple of years and has only done 1000 miles total since the rebuild.

It's still raining here so I've been polishing it inside the garage. Never done that before
