50 years of Lotus 7

I went to the 50th anniversary do at the weekend in Norwich, UK - helluva good turnout - about 700 Caterhams and about 100 Lotuses.

Man those roads are narrow but looks like a lot of fun.

What kind of Lotus was that on the road?

Looks like you would need a lot of tracks to handle all those Caterhams...

Man there are ton of kit cars for those here in the states.

That's a 1964 with a 1500cc pre cross-flow Cosworth engine. It had been sitting in a garage for over 30 years till a friend of mine bought it. We got it running in about 30 minutes, spent a further afternoon getting i ready for it's MOT Test (annual government test). Since then, we've given it a re-bore and new pistons, replaced the shocks and all suspension bushes and strengthened the back axle. We drove it 240 miles each way. to and from Norwich, and it didn't miss a beat.
