| Ok so i work at a bmw right now, and most of the guys there have a bimmer, and most of those guys, have the 335i. Tonight a buddy of mine was talking to me earlier about the slk, so as we were driving out of the complex we get to a light with two lanes. Of course, he guns it (335i coupe, 3.0 liter 6cyl with twin (or maybe bi, same thing different methods for operation) and 300 hp just lit it up. It sounded awesome (all stock , they get them soooo cheap like 200 bux a month for 6 months and then they get another, but they cant do anythign to it). especially when the turbos started pulling hard. SO i gun it right behind him, but man that car was quick. The road eventually becomes one lane, and thne our exit lane to get onto the highway. This whole time we are flying, and altho he was managing to pull away, it was very slowly. We got up to about 125 before we shut them down on the highway. I got up next to him and he his laughing and smiling as we trade thumbs up. I was just impressed with the car because its so fast (barely faster than my engine stock 350, old air filters, and big ol heavy chrome rims) Usually bimmers that dont have the letter M in there name arent much of anything really. But these cars are something else, and now, seems for like the first time ever, BMW is offering both 328 and 335 coupes in all wheel drive. Ill tell you what guys, that is awfully tempting for the next car. And who knows maybe they will make it available on there 335 hardtop convertible. I can tell u this, if they did that i would be the first in line!!!!!!!! otherwise im gunnin for a 55!(63) |

| I´ve met a 335i convertible on a Autobahn. It´s not quicker than a 350. If you want to buy a BMW, look here: http://www.alpina-automobiles.com/ The B3 is coming, 3l twinturbo, 360PS... |

| Ive got a friend who has the procede chip on his 335ci and has been killing Carrera S, Z4M. Its fast but I am not a bimmer type, the only BMW I would consider is the Z8.

| im not a bimmer guy either, but if you work there for so long, they give u one for 200$ a month, they pay insurance, and u get a new one every 6 months. hah why not? This guys wasnt the vert, it was the 335i with the sports package. Like i said we were very close, but he pulled maybe a car or two away from me, from pretty much 0 to 125. |

| Ya the new M3 is impressive with 400hp, but whats its torque at... like 270? I still think a 55 can beat it, maybe not so much smoke it like the e46 m3's but it would be a good run. |

| BMW is also putting that engine in the smaller, and lighter!, "1" series - THAT car, at a couple hundred pounds less weight than the 3 series coupe, is going to be a giant killer. ![]()

| While the 335i Coupe is a really nice car, and I mean really nice...it just doesn't get my blood going like my 55. I have driven a guy at work 335 coupe and it fits him fine. Smooth as silk, dang nice, and is pretty fast. Take him for a ride in my 55 and he wants to cry home to his mommy. Actually I guess that is most people. I guess a lot of people have never driven, or even care to, drive an exciting car. They just jump in their Honda Accords that are good pretty cheap cars that run for dang near forever and putt to work and back everyday. Again I have derailed a perfectly good thread by going way off topic. Anyway carry off, sorry I guess this was about the 350 vs 335. |

| I signed up for the mailing list for info on the 135i Coupe. Haven't received anything yet and my dealer hasn't received a brochure. I was disappointed in the weight that is being said on the internet. Just seems to heavy for a "small" car. I can't remember what it was but I think it was slated to be like 3600lbs. |

| WHAT? 3600 lbs? that's got to be gvwr for such a small car, unless they are loading the trunks of the test vehicles with cash (which must be why all the magazines praise BMW)... |

| IIRC, I thought the 135 would weigh about 3400lbs. I too thought that was not-so-light and perhaps heavy for it's supposedly compact size. Cyberdrakon, I'm sure it wasn't the GVWR.

| 335i is a nice car, easily modded to go much faster. I like BMW's, if I could get one for $200/month, I'll be in it in a heartbeat. BMW drives much better than any Benz. I thought my SLK350 was sporty, then I drove my friend's e36 325 fully stock, went back to my SLK and it feels like I'm driving a family sedan. BMW is still about driver's first, MB is about luxury with a touch of sport.

I cant believe i forgot to mention the 135! I signed up for the mailing list months ago, and like u, have recieved nothing. There was talkin the beginning that they were going to name the 135i the M1 or something just because that thing is going to be blistering! Vitamin, way to bring your V8 Brawler into a v6 karate fight! haha, o there is no way that the 335i could touch a 55. When the guy teased me the next day (i.e. yesterday was im posting this) to trade my car in and get the bimmer, i just said, na, if i get rid of it ill get the same exact car, just with a v8. Y'know 360hp 370lbs torque, just to start. His jaw dropped not knowing of the car. He is a very smart car guy, just doesnt know anything about benz, as i continued to hold class about AMG, comparing it to M had in bmw. I told him to only way he could keep up with that is to have the new M3, which is going to be a real good run between those cars, but watch out for whatever they put in the slk next. FYI, the new C class amg is quicker than the SLK amg ![]() | |

| The 335i coupe is definitely faster than SLK350. These cars put down 275whp/wtq bone stock, which is more than SLK has at flywheel. A 335i coupe with ecu and exhaust (330whp) won't be that much slower than SLK55 AMG. I would be a 100$ that a modded 335i will easily pull E92 M3 up to 100mph... |

| That's if it's fuel pump doesn't die first! (or if the BMW driver's head pops with ego before that). PS [i would get a 335 as well if i didn't have SLK55 and couldn't afford M3] |
