Travelling on Friday

Good Afternoon folks,

I just wanted to say that I will be going to Nice,France this Friday for my summer holiday. I have really enjoyed my time here and its a pleasure chatting with you fellow slk owners.

I have done a pretty good schedule as I will be passing Monte Carlo , St.Tropez , San Remo and Porto Fino.

Hopefully I will be back by the 30th of August but lately I have just completly detailed my SLK's Exterior and Interior and now not only that it feels like new but smells as If its just out of the showroom.

In addition to the detail, I have just purchased some dust cover to store my car for 1-2 months so it still looks clean when I come back. However, the dealer cheated on me and gave me a car cover for the CL W216 if I am not mistaken and that wasnt a problem as I had cut a 1cm hole for the antenna so it doesnt gets bent.

Mohammed, have a very nice vacation. Do drop in once in a while when you're at an internet cafe.

The car cover looks a little too tight. As for the antenna, I would recommend just removing/unscrewing the whip antenna without cutting holes. The car is being stored/stowed anyway. Any chance of returning/exchanging the car cover?

I will try my very best to chime in from time to time, I was going to get my self one of those new UMPC Sony Viao's but they are too expensive and I dont need them. If it was necessary I would of purchased one, It weights 520grams 1.33ghz , 40gb Wifi enabled in additon to Windows Vista Business.

I dont think I will return the car cover as I have already cut a small hole and its been 3 days since I have purchased it which I assume they wont take it back.

Thank you for telling me about the antenna cover as I just knew that and I will be back by the 30th.

I dont have a SLK over there just a W203 C320 01 model which looks identical to a C32 and a 93 R129 300SL-24V which I love.

I know how you feel bro, When I picked it up from Di-Tec detail today the weather was 40 degrees C and at 5:30 pm the suns not that strong. I put the top down and enjoyed the 10km commute back home whilst listening to my favourite "How to save a life".

That time of year already? It seem like just a few months ago that you went on vacation. Have fun and check in occassionally, your black SLK looks good, if only I wasn't so lazy taking care of cars. I would definitely get black.

Yeah time flies when you are having fun, last year it was 21/7 and this year its a day earlier. I got feed up with work and need some rest time.

Black is a Royal colour, the only drawback is that it needs to be detailed frequently. Silver doesnt show the dust and its good to look at even if it was not clean for a couple of days.
