| Driving down Hatch End (north London) and parked on the road was a gorgeous silver SLR! I was so shocked to actually see one on the road and even more shocked that it was on the outskirts of london rather than in central london, the only time i've ever seen one was in the MB dealership near Mayfair. |

and the other is a GT (the Porsche, like it's called ) which means that the SLR is also very usable in everyday's life and the other not. And for that kind of money, I would prefer something that I can enjoy very minute even if it means that it's a bit less agile on the track... SLR all the way ! | |

| There's a graphite grey type color SLR at Glauser MB, don't think they sold it yet, it's just gorgeous, while all the mechanics and service ppl were checking out my ride, the SLR definately caught my eye. It's a beauty.

| For me, the SLR is a hot, supercar. I drool over its lines and the power you know is under the hood. I visited a dealer in Rochester not too long ago and they had one in the showroom delivery area. It was covered up. When the sales guys came over and asked if there was something they could do for me I said "Sure, let me get a look at the SLR!" They kinda hemmed and hawed and said they couldn't do it because a customer had already bought it. (huh?) Then my salesgirl came over and I mentioned it. She immediately took me and my wife in the back and took the cover off it. It was drop dead gorgeous. I loved the lines. It just oozes great car, IMHO. I would have LOVED to take it for a little test drive. The salesgirl was probably willing to show it because it was her last day with the Benz dealership |

| When I went to my local dealer to pick up my SL 500 after a recent service, I spied something exotic just inside the door, under a very custom-fitting car cover. As there were problems with a part, and my car was not ready (it was Fri. afternoon, I had just driven 40 minutes in rush hour traffic, and I was anxious to get back home in my C280 loaner), I didn't pursue the mystery car any further. The next day, a friend called to tell me that our dealer had an SLR, ready to be delivered to an out-of-town buyer. Close, but no SLR! Dinoman |

| Mtiede, That was indeed the one. Wish that I had actually seen it uncovered, thought it did look hot under the cover! Dinoman |

| My dealer has a SLR, Maybach and a Rolls which is why they probably treat me like a turd on their shoe. I am a nobody to them. When I am at the dealer wait for my car to be sorted out for the millionth time I go and have a play with the SLR and Maybach. The only thing that fascinates me about the SLR is where do you keep your map/papers as there is no door pockets and nowhere else to put anything. Now the Maybach is pretty impressive. Those rear seats look like 1st class airline sleeper seats complete with individual DVD players. The Rolls is huge but the seats don't come anywhere near the Maybach |

| Your probably their target bread and butter customer. The posh cars are just there to impressive most. Imagine where the profit is for them and the amount of 100K+ cars they actually sell.

| Awhile back my local MB dealer had an SLR on the showroom floor for a couple of days before the customer picked it up. They let my deposit gobs of drool on it and since then I've just been missing the new owner by minutes. A couple of weeks ago I was on my Moto Guzzi sidecar rig and pulled into a parking lot just as he pulled out. Wouldn't you know it some mom in her SUV cut my path and I had to wait for her to move as I watched him turn onto the freeway. Then last week I was in the dealership and my favorite salesperson said, "You just missed (whatever the guy's name is). I wanted to introduce you to him." I turned my head so he wouldn't see me cry. All I want is a ride in it and hopefully our lines will converge and I'll get to meet the guy and talk cars. And, if he should happen to be here... The one on the N.E. side of St. Paul, MN...
