Lotus has announced today that they will unveil the New Europa S to the Irish public at Motorshow Ireland prior to it entering their dealership Linders of Chapelizod showrooms. This is the Latest launch from the Sportscar legend and it’s most exclusive to date. Only 500 of these cars will be built each year.

The new mid-engine coupe is set to entice a whole new level of interest in this prestigious marque. The Europa S is capable of delivering high levels of performance from a high torque 2.0-litre turbo engine producing outstanding levels of acceleration propelling the car from 0 – 100 km/h in around 5.87 seconds (0 – 60 mph in 5.59 seconds) and 160 km/h (100 mph) in 13.6 seconds. Typical of a Lotus the car is lightweight and thus far more efficient than its competitors both in terms of power and performance and its fuel efficiency.

Paul Linders, Managing Director, Linders of Chapelizod stated at the announcement, “The motorshow is a fantastic opportunity for us to show off this exceptional car to visitors from all over the country. The ‘Grand Tourer’ concept underpinning the Europa S provides the driver with a more refined environment, incorporating innovative styling features which do not compromise the superior performance and handling that is synonymous with the Lotus marque. It opens the market for us and better competes with the likes of the Boxter or the Mercedes SLK while remaining true to Lotus styling and performance.”

When compared to the award-winning Lotus Elise, the Europa S has a larger boot / luggage compartment and easier cabin access, resulting from lower chassis sides and a higher roof line. Combined with a full leather interior, Satellite Navigation, driver and passenger airbags and carpets all as standard, Lotus has created a driving experience which many will want to indulge in.

To have a car that has been developed to compete on performance with many of the supercars you can think of and at a fraction of the price it is bound to attract many of our discerning visitors. Lotus are also going to host a prize draw where some visitors to the show will get a chance to drive one of the Europa's siblings over the weekend. Possibly the Elise” said Motorshow organiser Nick Orton of Pioneer Shows Limited.

It looks ugly, The Exige S is in my heart for its cutiness and speed; I also like a white esprit.

You wouldn't wanna go touring in an Exige mate. Daym I went from the track to the fuel station in my friends elise a while back and it was certainly a little unfinished. although on the track its a total pleasure.
