Recently bought an O5 350 SLK to replace my beloved Honda S2000 which was a great drive but I was beginning to get a bit fed up with the very firm ride which was being made worse by the hopeless state of the roads here in the UK which are even worse than normal due to the bad winter. It was getting to the point where I was beginning to make a point of trying to miss every pothole and dropped manhole cover I came across - this must have made it look to anyone behind me that I was engaging in a giant slalom and I was beginning to get a bit worried that it would only be a matter of time before Mr Plod would be pulling me over for erratic driving!.
Anyway I think I have made a great choice with the SLK as it almost has the performance to match the Honda but with the benefit of a much more comfortable ride and the other half loves the air scarf and heated seats - no such creature comforts in the Honda of course!
It's good to see that the SLK has an active forum - the S2000 had a very well populated one and there are so many useful tips that these forums produce that can only benefit all owners.
By the way when I bought the SLK the seller included a Schatz Tuning of Munich boot and front lip spoiler as fitted to the AMG 55 - as he needed to raise some funds urgently he decided to sell car before he got around to fitting them.
He showed me some pictures of a car with them fitted and I must admit they do look nice - not too overstated - but I don't think I will get around to having them fitted myself so I was wondering if anyone on here might like them at a knock down price - if anyone is interested let me know and I will post some pictures.
Anyway it's nice to be here and even better driving the SLK.
