That's funny. The /// is supposed to be on the left of the AMG, not to mention the unmentionable.

It's also interesting how some would like to badge while a few would like to de-badge (myself included in the latter). Do you guys think the AMG badge attracts attention, especially from the traffic police?

Pop the badges off Eddy it does give a cleaner look as you already know.

Just make a template of the way both badges are mounted to the car when it arrives so should you ever need to re-badge you will be able to perfectly match the location of both since Mercedes Benz don't sell a template for the 55

I don't think the badge makes any difference to the police to be honest, they can tell how your driving badge or no badge

Yeah, i don't take any pictures of cars being driven, i think it encourages them, they think 'hey, i tricked another sucker into admiring my car'.

I think he knew he was busted because me and my wife were LOL and trying to take the photo. we finally got it when he got caught by a red light

This car even had those AMG stickers they sell on ebay for the calipers

What care were you in bill... it def wasnt the 55!

If he was gunna try to claim it was an amg, with only having a 430, he should of at least took the zero off so it read CLK43 AMG///////// ( i still laugh at that). At least even the guy with the most basic knowledge of benzs wouldnt know its not one.

I am new here but i will come to the defense of this guy... grill me if you must. I have seen a number of these CLK430 AMG///'s around.

I talked with the shop owner that works on my car because there was one there when I brought it in. He said when MB first took over AMG there was a CLK430 with an AMG body kit that came factory with the AMG///.

And if he says it I believe him, he is an old German used to work for MB in Germany, came to the US in the 60's and opened a MB only independant shop.

This may be true. I keep hearing the same argument regarding the CLK430 specifically. I wasn't into AMG's back then and have no idea.

They still do this for some models with the AMG sport pack.

The normal type designation goes on and then it gets an AMG badge on the other side.

If it were installed by MB or even a MB dealer I would think they would have installed it correct

Take a closer look at the AMG Badge in the photo

i hate these guys... didnt get a pic but I saw a fake CLK 55 AMG about 5 minutes ago when i was walking to the bank....
i was hoping he would stop at the light so I could pass by and say "so saving up for the real AMG huh ?"

why can't they be happy about driving a clk 350 or 500 or whatever it is ? geeeeez
