Hi people !
I have co-organized with SLKmania one meeting on Var.
Ten cars on two day, runs to Lake St.Croix, Castellane and Mandelieu first day.
Last day, slow drive and see the panorama Cannes to Montecarlo.

Programmed to 26 and 27 Avril 2008.

Hey marco in the summer I live not far from Mandelieu, 5 minutes by car to be exact in theoule sur mer.

Wonderful resort which goes by the name of Port La galliere. If you stop by in mandelieu make sure to go to the restaurants by the port at a place called le bovancaier numero 0493498051 its a great seafood and steak restaurant.

In cannes, make sure to go to restaurants such as L'ondine on the plage especially for lunch and checkout a italian restaurant called vesuvio.

Monaco is wonderful, I love dinning at Cafe de paris out at the terrace.

I usually be in France around July, I'll contact you if I am coming. My parents have an appartment in Port La Galere since 1971 its a great place that is usually filled with many tourists that come mostly from easter europe however the good thing about it is that security is top notch and its rather secluded from the main street.

I was in Juan le Pen in july 2007, been down there many times, Cannes, Antibes, Nice, Monaco, etc....
We could have met!!!
I had a ride from south of Sweden to Barcelona (in 1 1/2 day ) and had the pleasure to race against a lot of nice cars, Corvette C5/6, SL 55 AMG, BMW M5/6, a lot of Porsches and one DB9, had a little problem with a supercharged C5, but I bet them all .
We drove back to the French Riviera and ended up in Juan le Pen.
Havent been at the riviera for a couple of years, we normally travel around the world, our latest trip was to South Africa now in March - nice country (nice safaris - and nice wine).
If we go down there, I will post ya, guess that ya wanna have a ride

SLK Kleemann, nice I bet you had fun and I dont think a supercharged C5 can be that fast if it hasnt got cams, porting and other basics done.

300 Km, (over 120 Km in road FULLY CLEAN, no trafic ! rare !) sun, big blue sky, temperature at 25°.

Ah, wonderful day...

Nine cars: one SL600 V12 Bi-Turbo, one SLK55 , one SLK280 and six SLK200K.

Start in Mandelieu at 10:00 AM, get A8 and out in Le Muy.
Direction Draguignan city, Flayosque village and entry in Marco06 circuit !

The VAR, side nord, mountains and lakes, and river, le "French Colorado"

After Flayosque, passed little best village called Villecroze, and go to Aups village.
For info, in Aups city have a restaurant called "Saint Marc": lets go, it's fantastic ! all are good !
Out of Aups, clean street: direction Saint Croix sur Verdon.
Good moment on the car, zero trafics in street,
Arrivated at Saint Croix sur Verdon after two hours and go to restaurant called "Le Terasses du Lac". good good ...

Restarting at 15h and go to Castellane, passing into the "Gorges du Verdon"....
Wonderful moments......
A Concerto of exaust's SLK and SL..... mounting to 500mt to 1000mt level...

Chicanes and courbes, littles lines (200 mt max) for accelerations...
ROAD CLEAN ! RARE ! more more pleasure for all pilots !

One stop to get pictures (this road are not parkings, small) and go to Castellane city.

Stop one hour to repose and visit village.

Start and go to Mandelieu, little break to get another pictures ( see again in this post) , passing Saint Vallier,Grasse, Le Rouret and Villeneuve Loubet.
Get the A8 direction Mandelieu, arrival at 20:00.

Not problem if you meet me, only after work in Cannes to drink or , if you want, dining in restaurant.

My english is very poor, if you speak french are good for me.

I preferred tracks in north Var, not to coast, because hard traffic.
