Okroberfest style meet in Vegas?

How about a Las Vegas Oktober fest style meet? A lot of car clubs do it...the meet will span 2 or 3 days (or more). First day is usually concours style show, and picnic/meet and greet, and then formal dinner, second day consists of runs and tech discussions, etcetera.

Las vegas is a great place, cheap airfare, lot's of hotel selection, entertainment for the rest of the family...i'm pretty sure all of the west coast, and midwest can drive here, and some east coast may be able to make it, and the rest can fly in? Also, one thing that works, is people with a spare seat will agree to drive another east coast member around whenever it's car related? I did this with my mbcoupes (SEC & SL) meet, it's a lot of fun, great turnout, and reasonable expense.

I know of another club that is doing one in September, maybe we can get together with them also? they are getting great rates at a big hotel, and are really organized when it comes to meets and such...

Gero, We will all donate for airfare for the one traveling farthest...

Or if you can set up a European site, Mama would love a trip to Germany. How about first year US next year Europe or vice versa.

Better yet, lets meet in the middle of the Atlantic, nah that won't work, can't tread water when Im partyin.

Dang, there ain't no fair way so everyone can attend without trouble. I got it,,, we can buy an island and we will all move there with our cars and families and set up a road course and SLK shop with Dan in charge. Call the island SLKWORLD, we can all do business over the internet. I will get a MB franchise and Kevin can be the TV guru. How about the island of Australia, plenty big, long way from everything, Bazzle can be president...

Ive been on the original Oktober Fest 3 years ago and I don´t want to go again. The waiters have been too slow - I got just 5 beers the whole night

Sounds like fun, I wouldn't mind driving 10 hours to vegas, would love it if it was a huge group of other cars, variety is the spice of life, Sept is still ice and snow free on the highways, might be doable for me although I think I have a wedding to attend in Sept sometime. Plan it, make it a yearly thing, I might not be able to make it this year but I'll make it a priority next year.

Now...so many views, why aren't you voting in the polls?

Also, why wouldn't you be interested in joining another car club, so we can defray our costs? We would still be grouped by ourselves, but hold the events simulataneously with them.

Hey for tha first annual, stacked with others to get our feet wet, spur of tha moment thing, Im happy just talkin about it. If we can get enthusiasm about it this year, next year we can change the dates as needed and if need be rent the track for a day mid week. I told my family last night " No funerals, weddins etc for Sept me an Mama's goin partyin". I even ordered a new set of bib overhauls for tha occasion.
