Sat. APRIL 28th –– BIG SoCal Meet at HRE Wheels Factory in San Diego

Got this on another board and thought I'd post it here. Carlsbad has monthly meets that are similar to the crystal cove meets. This month though, instead of their regular location, they're having the meet at HRE headquarters.

This is posted on various boards such as lambopower and ferrarichat, so one can expect to see a good variety of exotics there.

TIME: 7:00am - 9:30am

LOCATION: HRE Wheels HQ, 2611 Commerce Way, Suite D, Vista, CA 92081
HRE's large parking area has room for 300-400 cars easily, so let's fill up the lot!

(Note: This means no meet in Carlsbad at the factory outlet mall this month.)

FREE REFRESHMENTS & HRE FACTORY TOUR: HRE will be giving a facility tour to all attendees, so you can see how their forged custom wheels are made, ask technical questions of the engineers, etc. Complimentary Starbuck's coffee, donuts, bagels and muffins will be provided by HRE.

MOUNTAIN/BEACH DRIVE AFTER THE MEET: Let's all go for a drive in the eastern hills and mountains of San Diego after the meet. Last meet I put together in Nov, we had a great mountain drive, stopped for lunch and then cruised down the coast to La Jolla. (Some of you may remember a certain video of a certain Carrera GT peacefully meandering along the San Diego coast...not making any noise at all.)*

If anyone has an alternate eastern route for the drive (instead of going over Mt. Palomar), bring a map with your route and some copies to distribute, and we can definitely try something new. I'll snag some maps from AAA as usual and pass them out after the tour and snacking.

Hmm, probably not. It's more of a porsche meet, with sprinkles of other exotics such as ferraris and lambos.

I saw a list, and there looks to be a good number of MBs in the form of e55s going.

Porsche member's refer to their GT's as the Carrera GT, could be wrong but it's mostly a Porsche meet correct so my assumption might be correct.

I never met up with heezy020, I hung out for about a hour & half with some lambo drivers. Before I left, I broke out my video camera to see if I could use it, like zoom and pan ....

I didn't end up making it out there that day. If I drove down in the morning, I would have had to leave early for a lunch date, so I didn't feel it would be worth the drive. My main focus was the drive afterwards to palomar. Exotics are nice, but when you're actually there, it turns into a bit of a bore.
