It was a great pleasure to meet everyone, both familiar and new faces. There were nine vehicles when we left Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach after an excellent BBQ lunch with hamburgers, hot dogs, sliders (more on this later), sun chips, soda, and some beer (small amount). A BIG THANK YOU to Edward (Cyberdrakon) and Kandy for the food and drinks. Weather was beautiful, sunny and cool (upper 60's).
Please post your photos to share too, and your thoughts/comments.
Shelle's ride, E63 AMG. Man I want those rims
At the parking lot on Palm Street, Balboa Peninsula, Newport Beach, CA. I wonder what V8SLK(Scott), Tslick (Tom), slkluv (Matt) and Shelle are talking about?
Closer look reveals discussion on digital movie camera with wide angle lens, high tech foam to reduce wind noise, etc...(too technical for me )
Sliders being grilled. Notice the spam, Hawaiian bread, a few dogs and a hamburger meat still cooking...
Shelle handing out the assembled sliders: Hawaiian bread, a touch of mayo, spam, mildly spiced and sliced KimChi, and a few slender pieces of green onions. Yummy Yummy to the tummy.
Second break at Irvine Shell Parking lot. This after some burnt rubber on the road from Tslick, Cyberdrakon, Shelle and SoCalC55.
Few final photos after a very good run through Santiago Canyon. Sorry you couldn't make it this time Dave (Cold Shot), another Dave with a black SLK 55 did show up (he need to do some mods though; like SmartTop, clear side markers and modded R170 short antenna, ..)
Thanks to Mr. Pathfinder (TSlick). The R170 SLK32 AMG should always be the lead vehicle
Was lots of fun guys... ill look through my photos later to see if I have anything to add but it looks like Eddy covered everything
It was nice having the E and C on the meet, and man those exhaust notes were nice =)
A BIG thanks to Edward and Kandy for the food. It was seriously good, and yes those sliders were amazing... Tom you missed out Again, thankyou so much Edward for planning such a great meet and bringing it all together, Yearly SLKWorld Balboa BBQ anyone?
Some good pictures so far! Again, I had a really good time, thanks for setting it all up and allowing us non SLKs in
Glad you could join us. The sound of the exhaust got me worried about attracting attention from the black&white but glad we only saw one at the end of the run. I saw him measuring the last 3 cars in our group.
Made it through the end of the interweb... had a great time. Thanks to Edward and Kandy for the BBQ. A lot of nice folks and cars. Putting together a video and will post later. Speaking of sound, hears that black C55 growling.
