This will be interesting. I've listed my location. I'm on the look out for a SLK or two.

The most recent one I had was this past Sunday. Here goes (give it a shot): Sunday, July 23rd, 9am, Saddleback Valley Community Church parking lot, Lake Forest, California, beautiful, clean and shiny yellow R170.

Next time, I'll bring a camera. I should've taken note of the car license plate.

I think the first post said not to enter the license plate number. Probably just a dash of precaution.

OOPS! My bad.

I was going to take (mental) note of the license plate but do not intend and will not post it. If I post pix, it will be with the license plate numbers/letters blotted off.

I hope this clarifies it. Thanks mtiede.

I've never understood the taboo about posting a picture showing a license plate. You have more chance of foul play driving in your local area. I've never read of a post on any forum where there was an incident. Comments?

Just saw a super nice silver R170 SLK 230, 320, AMG 32 (?) cruising down Rt 36 (towards Fort Lee) in Prince George, Virginia. (Tuesday, July 25th, 8:40AM). Anyone here claim it?

It may be out of consideration of other people's privacy concerns.

I'm in at frapper. On the lookout for other SLKs. Saw one a couple weeks ago just west of Albany, but it turned before I had a chance to check it out. Other than that, no sightings. Either everyone's hiding, or there's only two of us in town

It is my understanding that the concern is for someone who might come on here, see the license number and decide that the car is so nice, they want to steal it for themselves. I believe if you have the license plate number you can track down the address of the owner. So there might be a disturbing noise in the night as the thief takes the car

These web sites certainly serve as a good collection point if someone wanted to do such a thing. Admittedly, I haven't heard details of such an incident either, but I have read things that imply it has actually happened in the past on some car web site.

Maybe true in the US but I don't think you could track my address with my belgian license...

Anyhow, somebody trying to get at my car (in my home garage) will have some pointy surprises...

How about adding your location to frappr? Would be nice to see flags from many nations.

A little off topic while we all looking for wayward SLKs. You have a greater chance of someone seeing you driving locally (non internet), follow you home, and then commit foul play. I agree, anything is possible, but the license plate/photo/internet thing is blown out of proportion. My opinion. I have four vehicles, four wonderful personalized plates, I love them. By the way, I drove by the local MB dealer in Richmond this evening. Many idle SLKs.

Default Black SLK55 Spotted on I-287 in New Jersey

On Monday evening about 8:30 southbound between Routes 10 and 24 in the Whippany area. I waved, but it was getting dark...don't know if the driver saw me. New Jersey tag "UWC 2". Anyone from here?

If it was his car, I'm sure it was, damn, a Z06! I bet he could tell some stories. Another great plate I recently saw in person (in central Virginia). It was a Florida tag on the back of a H2 Hummer "HUMONME". I believe I've seen a picture of it on the internet also. You Florida guys have all the fun.
