Exclamation Help! - CD Changer Stopped Working

Hi to everyone at SLKWorld!

I just went to use the CD changer in my ML (W164) but it has suddenly stopped working.

There are 2 CDs in it (slots 1 & 2) and the indicator for slot 2 just keeps flashing red, if I try to eject one or all disks it says it's ejecting on the COMMAND but nothing happens.

If I try to load a CD it says load CD on the COMMAND but no indicator on the CD changer and slot 2 still flashes red.

If I go into 'magazine' on the COMMAND it shows the title of disk 1 but nothing for disk 2 (which it used to).

Any ideas?

You did buy this from a Merc dealer right mate?

Anyways its probably just stuck, remove its power connection / the fuse / the battery whatever one you prefer then try again at ejecting the disk.

If you don't get anywhere it will have to be dismantled.

Yeah I did buy this from a Mercedes dealership with the CD changer allready installed.

I'll try removing the fuse (assitance with this would be appreciated) and see if that works.

The vehicle is still udner guarantee, so would this be something the dealership would do if the removing the fuse didn't work?

I don't have any of my kit but your manual should point you in the direction of the fuse boxes and the main fuse box (interior) should contain a fuse map.

Not really sure what the dealer would do, we couldn't send it back if it has been tampered with but there is no other way to get the CD's back, if your using copied disk's make sure they are of good quality otherwise slight changes in the thickness of the disk will cause a jam.

I've located the three fuse boxes (boot, glovebox, engine) but can't find a fuse map anywhere, couldn't see anything about a fuse map in the UK manual but the US manual refers to it being in with the spare tyre, but nothing there when I looked.

OK I've found the fuse map and it WAS located underneath the spare tyre in the boot, but I do have a question...

There are two tiny keys with red caps rolling around underneath the spare tyre, anyone know what they might be for, I can't find anything they fit?

Yeah I'll take a photo tomorrow and post it here.

Oh and thank you Dan for your suggestion, I removed fuse 14 (located on passanger side of dashboard), reinserted it and the CD Changer started whirring away again
