Default Newbie ... Headlight Clean?

Just bought a 2001 SLK320 for my wife. Thank God, no car payments!
Not new to Mercedes ... sold a great 2000 C class 280 Sport sedan in one day!

Bringing the Slk up to spec mechanically, service levels being done and my forte: detailing entire car inside and out. Noticed that my headlights are dirty and water stained on the inside. Told that the lenses can be separated from the headlight unit upon removal from the car.

Anyone does this procedure, ie a writeup, pix, etc. Any help much appreciated.

Did this to a pair a few weeks ago. There are metal "u" shaped clips around the outside of the lens. Pry the clips off; the lens has a silicone seal and a gasket. Pry the lens from the gasket gently you don't want to tear the gasket. Clean your lens. Before replacing the lens you will need a good silicone sealant. Run a decent size bead over the gasket then firmly press the lens in place, replace the clips and your good to go.
