Default Telephone top down not working

Hi all.

even though the telephone connection of my new face lift SLK is working very well with the top up, the people at the other end of the phone are having trouble hearing me when the top is down and I am doing more than 25 mph.
I was wondering if anyone knows where the microphone is located and if there is a way to improve the transmission and reduce the background interference that I currently get with the top down.
Thanks very much for any help you can give.

Wimbledon_SLK - it used to be located behind the "light" array at the top of the where the rearview mirror is - I don't think they have relocated it on the facelifts, but.....

I've not heard of anyone having much success over about 30, and then only with the plexi windscreen in place and the windows rolled up..

Thank you. I will have a look and try to locate the mike behind the rear view mirror like you said. I just thought that maybe protecting the mike with some kind of foam... TV crew sort of style would help.. perhaps a naive thought... I am sure that MB engineering must have thought about this before me!

thanks

Did you have handsfree in your previous car? Perhaps the facelift is no different?

Richard,

Thanks again. No I did not have handsfree on my previous SLK. No telephone wiring.
I just think that 20-30 mph is a bit limiting...However I must admit that the system works really well with the top up. I did try to change the "transmission volume" but it made no difference, my conversation was completely canceled out by the background noise.

Thanks

P

Sorry mate thats pretty much it with the roof down, being so close to the over frame wind flow at that overhead panel its just too windy at anything more than a crawl to be of use.

If its any help its not just an MB thing.

I am not very much into bluetooth earpieces... I am concerned about radiation...but it could be interesting to put them both on and see hat happens
