will the slk speak to me?

Hi All, new member saying hello, and asking advise..
We bought the 280 slk new on 28.09.05, it didnt have its first service until 07.08.07 it had only covered 6091kms in this time, I see on the paperwork this was an A service.
I made the mrs take it in, as im sorta old skool, oil change every year etc..
Mrs said the service desk said that with the kms so low it will probably only come in for a service every 2 years?
So will the car tell her/me this automaticly? and is this ok..
Also, ESP malfunction, car was fine when it was parked up from a journey, 3weeks later when I go to move it, thats the error message..

Yes it will tell you automatically my SLK has around 40,78km and last year at 3,800ish it announced that it has to go to service via the instrument panel screen next to the gauges.

In general the vehicle will ask for service once a year if the annual mileage is low.
