Default cockroach inside the fan system

Hi everyone!

Please can anybody help! I have seen a discausting cockroach going inside the fan system (inside the cabin) and i am so pissed off. Can anybody tell me how it went in my cabin? I mean are there any holes under the car so that anything can go inside the cabin? And what can I do to make it die or get out to kill it so it will no grow bigger?

Probably came in via the AC.

Try setting the AC vent's to all open and put the fan at full power, that might eject him.

Thanks DansSlk, but i've tried and nothing came out. What about the Ventilation screen, doesn't that not allow anything or bacterial come in the cabin?

Would setting the HVAC at high heat and full fan power do it? Make sure car engine is on and you're in a well ventilated area.

Let it be. It has shown good taste and chosen an SLK. I suppose you dont want a cockroach flying about in the cabin when you do 70-80 mph!

As for the cat who left muddy pawprints on my car, mate, you time is up and I am on to you!

+1 - I think I'd rather have a live cock-o-roach in my vents and than a "well done" one. I suspect he'll crawl out under his own power without you ever noticing - just so you'll have to wonder!

Put a roach motel in your car on the dash over night. They like the dark and will come out and get stuck in the glue in the box. Then you know you got it and you can dispose of it easily.

Problem solved!

I'm sorry to say this, but if there is one, there are probably more. Roach hotel sounds like a good idea.

I remember traveling in Hawaii in a rental. During the night I remember something in the trunk that I wanted. So I went out to the car, flung open the trunk, trunk light came on and about 30 cockroaches disappeared. From then on I always make sure I don't leave suitcases slightly open...

I was later told that Hawaii has a REAL problem with cockroaches. Many hotels spray lots of insecticide.

Does the car not have a cabin filter? If not, is that not a fault from the manufacturer? And, if it does have one, how would it bypass the filter?

They sometimes get into the car from the various vents and drains that they can crawl up.

I got back from a work trip to the far east once, opened my tool case and a 'roach popped out and scurried away - I was pleased it was only one, till I found out a female 'roach can carry hundreds of fertilised eggs in it- luckily, it must have been a male.
