changing my side lights

hi can some one please advise me on changing my side/parking lights on my r170 230K i have located the bulb behind a white plastic holder(is this right?) and turned it to release it but it doesn't seem to come back far enough to be able to take the bulb out. there seems to be a purple wire restricting the movment thanks for you help

please ignore my previous this thread and feel free to call me stupid

in the end i took the front light out and then realised that i just had to remove the black bulb holder with all the wires going to it, typical of me trying to over complicate things.
