Default SLK Cover.

Hello.

I saw some time ago while looking at the MBUSA site a proper tailored fit SLK cover. It was from the accessory range - had the MB star on the front end - retailed for about $200 - was silver in colour. Could one of our brothers / sisters from the US be so kind to do me a favour next time they are in one of their local dealers and enquire if they are still available as we cannot get them in the UK.

Many thanks.

Portzy.

I purchased one off my dealership last summer, however they provided me with the wrong part as the one I have fits the W216 CL.

Thats the type I'd seen. Sadly, they are not available in the UK so I suppose what I am really looking for, ultimately, is for one of our members to offer to get me one (pre-paid of course ) on my behalf and post it over to me, hopefully .

Portzy.

I have the SLK one, fits real nice. I just take the ant off each time. Got mine from the dealer as an engine sorry token. I'll check with them next week and let you know if someone else doesn't do it before then.

Portzy, probably the best way to go as I am currently sitting in Poland. Shipping should be less as well, will be a backup if needed.

Portzy, looking at the accessories catalog from MBUSA.com.

There are 2 part numbers:
BQ 660 0075, labeled Car cover (I believe this is for outdoor use), and it has the three-pointed-star and Mercedes Benz label as pictured by Mohammed.

B6 688 5009, labeled Dust Cover ( I believe for use inside the garage to minimize dust build-up), it has the same star and MB label.

When I get the chance tomorrow, I'll call the parts department to check on price and availability. Are you planning to use this indoors or outdoors. Car Cover has "UV-resistant 3-layer cover" for outdoor use with breathable Noah fabric. Dust Cover is made "from breathable hard-wearing synthetic material and the inside from a soft flannel-style fabric".

gd mrng all,

have just checked on the phone with my local mb ad:

available two items:

1. B6 688 5009
tagged ''r171 dust cover''
price 353.40 euro + 19 pct vat.
not readily available; to be delivered 10 working days after placing an order.

2. 96670 171
tagged ''r171 dust cover grey/light''
price 137.00 euro + 19 pct vat.
in stock.

have also requested info on item code BQ 660 0075 as per eddy's last, but they told me this is not a european code, and should be either available in the usa only, or it might be an older code no more in production.

portzy, that's all from my side actually,
if you decide for any of the above, i can gladly and easily do the purchase and courier part for you.

however, i do suggest we both wait a tad, and see whatever feedback we might get on these (or any other codes) from members, and then decide. what do you say?

members reading, any info/suggestions are most welcome.

As said I can check on mine early next week. It is quite solid material that will also protect from an accidental "bump" from light objects. Star on front and MB on back left.

Portzy,

The Car Cover for some reason is cheaper. US $250.00 and in stock.
The Dust Cover is US $430 and not in stock (need to be ordered).

Eddy, that's the price I remember, more or less, it really is a quite sturdy cover, not what I would call a dust cover. Much thicker than in Mo's pics above.

It sounds like the 96670 171 may be similar/equivalent to the BQ 660 0075, just by looking at the price/cost.

Just received an e-mail from MBUSA about accessories. Car (not dust)cover for SLK is BQ6600054 and price is $167 + tax.

Here is the link. http://accessories.mbusa.com/MBUSA/S...SubAccessories

Not sure if this is the same as mine, will take pics tonight and post.
