Default A little advice please on buying an SLK

Hi, I'm Billy in Glasgow,Scotland, and I just found your forum.

After reading a heap of old posts I feel better armed as I am wanting to buy an slk.
But, before I get my fingers burnt, will someone answer a few questions for me?
Can anyone tell me the thing about the keys? should I get two and a card or something? should they both work the same functions?
The car I'd be looking for is a 97-01 230, are there any major issues to be aware of? like rust in a certain area kinda thing?
One last one, I've been discounting any car with over 70k miles on the clock, am I being too fussy? are 130k miles plus cars in great condition worth considering? are these cars good for high mileages?

Cheers for any info

For older R170's in wet salty weather, I'd open the driver / passenger door and if the seller would allow, pull back the weather seal along the bottom of the door and check for clogging / corrosion. In other words, check areas where water can settle like around the wind shield. As to keys, it locks / unlocks and allows the engine to start. Nothing special.

The mechanicals are stout if maintained. Insure the oil / hydraulic fluids are up to date and proper (synthetic). Insure the kompressor kicks in around 2500 RPM.
