| I am looking to buy my wife an SLK (her dream car since she was 15) sometime this week, and I'm looking to get some estimated figures on yearly maintenance costs. We're looking at used SLKs, year 98-01 (probably 01) with between 60-100k miles. Any help estimating based on actual yearly figures, or based on educated guesses would help us budget for this purchasing decision. Thanks! P.S Feel free to use poll, or just give a figure. |

| I've own the car for two years, 1st - Oil change = $100, didn't need it but did it for my own comfort 2nd - Service "B" = $457, another oil/filter change and an inspection. I will continue to do oil/filter changes every year, so it's going to be at least $100/yr, which is still cheaper than my Nissan Murano, which requires an oil/filter change every 3 months at $30 each time.

| I've had my slk230 since new and have been doing my own work. If your handy and spend time on the fourm's you can do the work real cheap. (GTO) GAS TIRES AND OIL with a brake job now and then is all i needed, guess i got lucky. IMO the slk's are a good running car with few problems. |
