Audio 20 "07 SLK 280

I just purchased a new 07 280. I thought it was wired for cell phone integration because it has the phone key pad on the dash and the controls on the steering wheel. I have since learned it is not prewired for anything.

I want to change it out for an upgraded audio system with NAV but the dealer has told me I can't do this because it doesn't have the COMMAND system.

Is it possible to integrate my IPOD? I don't care if I can only use the volume? I have no ability to do any of this myself and would appreciate any ideas, suggestions or brands that would work.

Do you want to rip out the Audio 20 and go for something aftermarket or would you like to stay with factory integration.

If you wanna stay factory you can pick from the Audio 50 or the COMAND.

The iPod kit wont work with the 20 and to add an aux to it takes some skill.

i just saw a new product from Mercedes Benz. This "Universal Media Interface" is connected to audio 20 system and provides :
. SD card interface,
. Bluetooth audio streaming,
. USB connection,
. iPod management,
. auxiliary input.
Based on the MB doc, the SD card is also able to add 3D navigation !!! on audio 20 system .
No P/N except the name "Universal Media Interface".

I am assuming this is not capatible with US-spec Audio 20s (like everything else)???

Its for the newer Audio 20's that are more a part of the dash
