Default Tires for the SLK230 - 1999

Hi everyone,

Last week I went from a set of worn Kumha tires to a new set of Pirelli Pzero M&S tires (205F/225. Despite balancing the tires at the tire store and having the wheel alignment done at a Mercedes Dealer, the tires still underperform (to me).

When the road surface is not completely smooth, I can feel the bumps. And when I get on the freeway, and the road is contoured, the traction is less than satisfactory - it feels like I am driving in a little bit of snow.

Does anyone have any recommendations for me? I have another 3 days before the 10 customer satisfaction return warranty expires.

Thank you,

Alex

The Pirelli P6000 Powergy are very comfortable and have a good grip. I had those on my R170.

Try Yokohama tyres. Very good traction under dry conditions. But consider: Grip is not a question of the tyres only.

Thumbs up

I would suggest you switch to continental contactsport 2 or 3 (depending on the size of your wheels).. Last week I posed a similar question on the forum and decided to wear them... I'm satisfied and they have a good steady grip on wet roads and high speed as well... Mind the different versions depending on max speed..
