Just received my bluetooth module (counldn't wait for it arrive in the UK so I ordered it from Germany), set up was a breeze, works great....the hardest part is entering the PIN in the car each time it pairs !!

I paid 399 euros, if anyone wants any further infor or a copy of the instructions, let me know (I'll PDF the instructions on Monday)

Looks cool, its a pity its covered up!!

It may sound like a stupid question to the experts...but... do I need prewiring to install bluetooth?

Yes, the Bluetooth puck just slips into the plug in the arm-rest. Consequently, the wiring and the plug have to already be there. I believe from reading that it is quite expensive to add the wiring harness afterward.

I have many questions on this part............

I have the Comand which has the bluetooth option. When I press the search button it finds my mobile phone. Then I choose to be an authorised connection. But after 1 minute it looses the connection. I have all the wiring fo a mobile phone installed (under the arm rest).
Do I have to buy something.... in order to install it under the arm rest?

S2Tigger can you send me the pdf?

Thanks in advance....

I believe that if you have a phone cradle in your armrest that the bluetooth is only enabled for data transmission. If I were you I would try to make a bluetooth connection with the phone out of the (wired) cradle.

Not sure if the European module is different from the US, but I think it is. In any case, the US version only needs to have the PIN once. That would be a real pain otherwise. Perhaps your phone has been programmed properly to remember the MB device?

As long as you you make it authorized device you only insert the PIN once. (european spec) The thing that I do not understand is that If I have to buy a bluetooth module and connect it to the cradle under the arm rest....

Just to clarify, once the phone and bluetooth module have been paired (by use of a pin) you do not need enter the pin again.....I had to because I had my sim pin turned on.....was a real pain, I kept forgeting to enter it so my phone was always not connected...I've taken a risk and turned it off now....works like a dream......

I understand that the Bluetooth 'Puck' only works with Bluetooth SAP enabled phones. Not quite sure what the SAP part is all about. Can anyone shed any light, or advise if the Puck is compatible with the Sony Ericsson K800i. Cheers.

Hi - new to this forum - my first post ...

SAP stands for SIM Access Profile; basically, it allows other Bluetooth units to access the SIM within your phone - so useful for the COMAND etc. AIUI, the K800i (which I also have) does NOT have SAP, and so the phone won't "share" it's address book with the COMAND module.

There are currently only a few handsets with SAP - IIRC, they are mainly Seimens and Nokia.

Hopefully SAP will become more widespread in future ...

Hi Darren, I don't have instructions and I'm having difficulty pairing the BT module with a Nokia E65, I would be grateful if you could send a copy of the PDF instructions, if you still have them available. PM me for the address.

Cheers, Ron.

Here's pairing procedure from the wireless4mb.com website:

Vehicle procedure:

1. Open armrest
2. Locate installed Mercedes Benz cradle with Bluetooth
3. Press and hold "Star" button for 3 seconds
4. Blue LED will flash fast
5. Proceed to Handset procedure below:

Handset (mobile phone) procedure:

1. Select "menu"
2. Toggle to settings and select
3. Scroll to Connection and select
4. Select Bluetooth link
5. Select Hands Free
6. When prompted to turn Bluetooth power on, select Yes
7. Select "Look for devices"
8. Select "MB Phone System"
9. when prompted to bond/pair with MB Phone System, select yes
10. Enter passkey 62872 and select OK.

The handset procedure may show some variability depending on the make. The passkey number is also printed on the Bluetooth module by removing the panel located on the other end of the three-pointed star. I am not sure that the above steps apply to UK models.

Do you have phone cradle NOW? If yes, I think you need to replace that cradle with a bluetooth SAP module IF YOU WANT TO USE A DIFFERENT mobile phone (with bluetooth function) that cannot be used on the existing cradle.

Am I right? Novice.

TY etyu, I've seen these instructions posted before, but I think the European model may be different as it supposed to generate the code during the pairing process. I don't have a code located under the 'sim cover'. Thanks for yoyr help. Cheers.

Default Bluetooth

Hi alslk.

Check out the link below, the list is reasonably up to date, but bear in mind it's from a UK site, and things may be different in Oz

I think the Bluetooth puck is supposed to work with any phone that has Hands Free Protocol (HFP).
