| Hi all, I've got my eyes on a set of replica AMG wheels (the real ones are just TOO much dosh!!) but wanted some advice. My car is in at the dealer as I type having a minor audio repair, so I can't go and look. Are the stock 17 inch wheels the same width front and rear? The reason I ask is that the wheels I'm looking at are 8.5JX18" ET35 PCD 5X112 - all four of them being the same size. Is this ok? And then if that IS ok, what size tyres will I need to fit these wheels and (again) will the tyres be the same size front and back? Cheers. |

| PM Ynot. I don't know if the 8.5 width will cause rubbing in the front. IIRC the off set of the OEM is 37mm.

| Hi, I saw this question only today: The 171 usually has different tyre and rim sizes at the front and rear axle. But it's allowed to drive the small size at the rear axle, too, but it does not look that well. The recommended sizes by Mercedes are: 7,5 x17 ET36 or ET37 with 225/45 front (and rear) 8,5 x17 ET30 or ET34 with 245/40 only rear 7,5 x18 ET36 or ET37 with 225/40 front (and rear) 8,5 x18 ET30 or ET34 with 245/35 only rear I think the rims are okay only for the rear, but might get tight in the inner wheelhouse. E.g.: I drive the stock AMG rims 8,5 x18 ET30 with 255/35 tyres at the rear.
