New Smartkey upgrade

I converted to the newest Smartkey on my 02 E55, and I really liked it. So, I am going to order the new Smartkey for my 06. Anyone else do this? Cost is about $100 US and the key comes fully programmed. Nice.

If you're referring to the new style chrome and black electronic key, I purchased one through MB parts and the cost was close to $180, including shipping. My used SLK 55 only came with one key and rather than run the risk of being without a key, I sucked it up and paid the price.

I'll bite. What did you like about the new smartkey that is worth $100?

Where did you get it for $100? I just got one and paid around $160, which appears to be discounted from the list price.

I washed one of our old ones in the washing machine by accident and it doesn't appear to be working anymore. I just got the new style yesterday, but find that the range is slightly better than the old one. The design also looks much nicer, matching the styling on the iPhone, for example, with the black and chrome.
